Service and Repair of Backes & Müller Products.

Surely next to the excellent sound of our speakers, our reputation as high-tech, noble, German manufacturers played a role in the decision to purchase a Backes & Müller product.

We can justify the trust placed in us with our service and repairs:


As a rule almost all devices manufactured by us can be repaired, that is to say we stock many replacement parts of all the models we have ever built. We continually strive to replace parts from sub-suppliers that are no longer built with parts that are at least equally good. Unfortunately the possibility of overhauling one of our products cannot be guaranteed. We offer different update packages and other services to bring your outdated speakers up to the latest technical standard and the accustomed sound, respectively bring them to an improved sound level.


There are two ways to access these services:


1. Service and repairs are handled by B&M directly or one of our service partners. The latter sends your amplifier to Backes & Müller and takes care of the handling, as well as any estimates and other eventualities. For a modest fee they will surely also offer a pick-up and delivery service. Their knowledgeable market overview can also prevent bad investments in repairs or new products of inferior quality. 2. Direct contact to the Backes & Müller Service Department. You can reach our service in writing by email: service@backesmueller.de, fax: +49 (681) 761 6785, or by post. Our service personnel will contact you as quickly as possible and process your request. Our service personnel can provide information regarding all problems and their possible solutions. If your speaker is being repaired or overhauled in our factory we will have the speaker picked up, do the work discussed and send it back to you. In both cases you will receive a detailed job schedule / invoice directly from Backes & Müller so that no matter which point of contact you have chosen, you will always receive an invoice in the same amount for same services performed. To this extent we strongly advise you to avoid service and repair attempts by radio or television technicians from around the corner.

Update

The technical rejuvenation of your Backes & Müller loudspeakers!

Many models created since 1972 are still playing today. However the ravages of time have often demanded their tribute: Next to visible, mechanical deterioration, the ageing of components is also noticeable. The dynamic gradually decreases, the effervescence of the music is reduced, the sonic image seems tired and overexerted. This is a very slow process, which you have probably not even perceived as a constant listener of your loudspeakers. Perhaps you merely noticed that the old fascination of listening to music does not enthral you as it used to? Treat yourself to a listening session with one of our current loudspeaker models and hear the difference. An update of your Backes&Müller amplifier can bring the sound level close to this. How close depends on the vintage and technical state of your loudspeaker. Our customers are more than content with it!
In order to inform you precisely regarding the scale and cost of an update, we require the model number and series number of your loudspeaker. The certified update will only be performed directly at Backes & Müller in Saarbrucken. Please direct update requests to our office at +49 (681) 761 6809 or to service@backesmueller.de where our service personnel can provide information regarding all problems and their possible solutions. In consultation with you we will have the speaker picked up from your home and sent back to you after servicing. In both cases you will receive a detailed job schedule / invoice regarding the service performed from Backes & Müller. We strongly advise you to avoid service and repair attempts by “radio or television technicians from around the corner”. A certificate is issued of the work performed on the update of all products overhauled by our Service Department-

Guaranty

We want our customers to be happy and to remain so! This is why we offer a four year guaranty on all Backes & Müller products, longer than the prescribed two year legal warranty. You will find a registration card for the warranty extension in the original packaging of your loudspeakers. This should be sent to Backes & Müller together with a copy of the purchase invoice within eight weeks of the date of purchase. In return you will receive from us a certificate with a four year guaranty for your Backes & Müller loudspeakers commencing with the date of purchase. This is the pre-requisite for your chance to have a “lifelong” guaranty.

After the first guaranty has expired we offer you a pure guaranty extension for the Line and the Prime Series (2.8% of the list purchase price). This guaranty extension must be commissioned within the guaranty period. A guaranty extension after 8 years is only possible in combination with a chargeable service inspection (price on request).

We also offer a four year guaranty on a general overhaul of your Classic Line loudspeakers performed by us. Should a loudspeaker have a defect within this guaranty period, we will remedy any fault free of charge (applicable to material and labour). Should a defect occur within the first six months after handling, we will also take over all shipping costs within Germany. In all other cases we will invoice the shipping costs.
